“The Other Side of My Heart” is a Tango concert.  The first half is based on the real stories of a group of Latino women that immigrated to North Carolina.  In this musical piece their stories become a cycle of five songs interlaced by these Latino women’s stories in which they reflect about their trajectory from their home countries to their new place in United States.  The second part of the concert consists of a selection of Argentine tango-songs that reveal this genre as the product of diverse migratory waves and the role of women composers, lyricists and performers in its solidification as the fore-most idiosyncratic popular urban Argentine song.
